Oh funny things kids will say!

The other day our home teachers came over. David and Zach were showing off everything they owned, trying on costumes and telling them stories. When Bro. Isom got to the lesson he asked David who Jesus was. David got a serious expression on his face and said, "He never sits in time out because he never does anything bad." It was so funny- I don't know where he got that from but I thought it was pretty cute. He asked him some other questions about what he came to earth to do and what the bad guys did to him, and to my surprise he answered right and knew more than I thought. It made me feel good to know that he actually does listen to us and his primary teachers. I am so grateful for the gospel to help teach my kids. David is such a sweet little boy and we are grateful he is in our family.

David Started Preschool!

My little David started preschool. He was so excited he stayed up till 11:00 the night before! I had mixed feelings about this whole old enough for preschool thing. Okay, I admit it, I had a hard time. But now I love it and he does too. It is really cute because it includes gymnastics, karate, music, & swimming. David loves to learn and has an excellent memory (didn't get it from me!!) He is saying things all the time that surprises me. He is such a good, cute little boy and I am so proud of him:)
Of course, he had to have a deigo back pack. It was a must.

Summer Pics!

Summer fun!

It's pretty lame I haven't blogged for 3 months! I have some good excuses:) Basically, I am behind on every area of my life right now and this is proof of one thing on the list:) We had such a busy summary and since it is old news anyway a will do quick summary. We went to the Chatterton Reunion in Provo first which was a lot of fun to see everyone. Then we went to Lagoon and the kids had a BLAST on all the rides-especially my little dare devil boy Zach. We stayed in Idaho for 4 1/2 weeks at my parents (thanks mom and dad) That was a lot of fun too. Rod worked for my dad trying to get the never ending project of the office done for the parade of homes- while I went to my sister Holly's house every day. The kids loved to play with Michael, Sarah, & Kaleb and I loved to hang out with my sister/best friend. While we were in Idaho we went to Bear Lake, the Cabin in Island Park, Yellowstone, and Rod & I even got to go to a session in the Idaho Falls Temple. (which we haven't been back to that temple since we were married in it) Lots of fun. We got home and a day later we were off to California for the Oneill reuion that is always a blast thanks to Rod's party animal aunt Roxy. We went to Magic Mountain, and then spent a lot of time at the beautiful Corona Del Mar beach. The Riddles had a beach house right by it so we hung out there a lot. The Oneill reunion was a lot of fun too. I was so glad to be back home even though the summer was filled with lots of adventure and fun. Thanks to everyone who made it that way:)

June 16 Zach turned 2

Zachy is 2!  We had a little party for him before we headed to Idaho.  

He loved all his presents.

Grandpa and Grandma Broadhead gave him this cute little motorcycle.  He crashed the first time he went down the driveway.  He still likes it though.  

Zach's & David's favorite present though was the cardboard boxes-

Beautiful Ragged Mountain

School is out for Rod and we have a busy, fun summer ahead of us. We went to Colorado to Ragged Mountain and it was so gorgeous. It was for the Cowgill reunion. Isn't it so pretty- those are the Rocky Mountains right behind us! The church owns 150 acres and it has 5 lakes and then a main lodge (in picture) with about 5 little cabins around it.

This is all that came out of Rod's Family-there was more counting the extended family. Even though the drive was long, it turned out to be really relaxing and everyone really enjoyed themselves.


We stayed in this cute little cabin. The first night we got there at 3 in the morning and it was freezing cold. So it was like basically sleeping outside and when we woke up it was snowing! It didn't stick but it was still freezing. But then it warmed up and ended up being really nice. Right next to our cabin there was a little pond that the kids loved to go and throw their fishing poles in . I thought this was so cute with Rod and the boys!

I thought this was so funny. There was so many swampy areas when we went fishing all the kids shoes got soaking wet. Rod hung them all up to dry.

The kids all got sick of me asking, "Do you want to go take some pictures?" They all went on strike so I didn't get a couple of other spots I wanted, oh well.

All David could talk about is when he was going to go fishing. Over and over and over! Finally, Rod took him real fishing and he was so excited when he caught a fish. It was so cute to watch him and the other kids get into the fishing.

David's cousin Carter caught 5 fish. He was so proud! He had to win everyone mostly the girls, he said, "I can't let the girls beat me."

Don was cutting the fish and showing David and Rusty all the eggs and stuff inside. Then he asked Rod if he wanted to have a turn. By the look of his face will tell you how much Rod enjoyed that. It surprised me that he did because he has such a weak stomach. I know that he did it for David and Zach though- to learn how to do it so he can fish with the boys by himself. Another reason why he is such an amazing dad.
