Jacob is born

Jacob Fisher Broadhead was born on April 2, 2009.
I went into the hospital around 9:30 and had him 11:56 am. It was very intense and very fast:)

This is minutes after he was born. It is crazy how swollen they are.

Rod was able to see Jacob take his first breath of life. He didn't get to see that with the other kids and it was really neat for him to see that.

It is amazing how humbled I felt holding a sweet angel straight from heaven.

Jen brought the boys down to the hospital and David and Zach didn't know what to think about the new addition. David didn't want to hold the baby and Zach couldn't stop talking about his baby brother. It was opposite of what I thought there reactions would be. I don't think David liked seeing me in a bed in a weird place more than the baby himself because once we were home he and Zach have been holding him and loving him like crazy.

We are a true family now.

Pampered Weekend

Grammy & Papa Cowgill came and picked up the kids on Thursday and took them for a fun weekend in Vegas at their grandparents. They were soooo excited to go. I was too:) It was kinda hard because it was the first time Zach was away from me over night, but I figured it would be good for him since the baby is coming. It turned out to be a really fun weekend with just Rod and I. I went and got a pedicure- I figure it will give me something pretty to look at when I am pushing:) Rod took off Friday and we played all day! It felt like we were newly weds all over again. We totally lounged around Friday morning and then I had a doc appt. we went to. We went out to eat and then we went shopping. We went to the chiropractors and went to dinner. After that day, I realized how easy it was to spend a lot of money when kids weren't in the way!! It was a fun day- it literally wore me out though. I thought maybe I would go into labor- but luckily I didn't- I didn't have any energy!! Friday night at 2:30 in the morning we got a phone call from Rod's mom- I thought for sure it was Zach having a hard time but it wasn't. David was having the hard time and he wanted to come home. I talked to him for a while until he settled down and then he went back to sleep and so did I. But then we got another phone call at 5:30 in the morning- it was Don and he was out in our drive way with the boys. I guess David woke up again and was having a hard time! Don drove them all the way home in the middle of the night! Rod and I about died! Rod's mom was just paranoid that David wouldn't want to come back if she didn't make him happy. David would have been fine in the morning though- he was just overly tired from staying up too late. Rod's mom and Don are such great grandparents and i am so grateful that they took the boys so Rod and I could have a fun weekend by ourselves one last time before we have 3 little rugrats!:) On Saturday we cleaned all day. I am lucky because Rod is a great cleaner- I am in the "nesting" stage so we went to town on the house. I wish I could be in that mood all the time because I got a lot accomplished. When the boys went to bed that night I finally watched Twilight. I liked it and Rod liked it too. The book was better but that was kinda obvious it would be. It was just a great, relaxing weekend that was well needed!

David is my little creative boy- he is always wanting to do art projects. He molded a bunch of snowmen in this picture.

I am so grateful David and Zach are little buddies. They play together so well! It was cute to hear how David took care of Zach in Vegas. Rod's mom said he prayed for him and just made sure he was okay. He is such a good big brother! I know it will help out tons when the baby comes. They are hilarious to watch play together though. They have such different personalities that they complement eachother. I love my little boys!

Snuggle Time

I put the boys to bed the other night- this is what the result was. Don't get me wrong, I love my two sweet boys snuggled up close to me, but I am a little worried about the baby coming and poor little Zach will be booted out of being the baby. He is obsessed with my belly. He has been since he was a baby. That is why he is asleep on it! So he starts out in his own room and then migrates into our room around 12 to sleep with me. I don't know what I am going to do when I have a nursing baby too. When I got pregnant I thought Zach would be well out of our room and it would be just fine once the baby comes- only 4 weeks to go before I have the baby and I still have a little Zachy in bed with me. It is hard because I like him in bed with us. We are trying to talk to him and tell him he needs to stay in his own bed all night but I don't think anything sinks into his brain. I just don't want him to have a hard reality check when I can't be there for him how I have been. I was worried about David when Zach was born and he did fine so I just need to remember that it will work out and Zach will just have to grow up- I can totally see me with my last child and babying them way too much! I don't want them to grow up and I like to baby my kids! Luckily, Rod is a great help and will be there to help with the transition.

I've been wanting to get some pics of David in preschool- They do gymnastics once a week so I snuck in and took some pictures. I didn't get that great of pictures but at least I have some:)

David was showing off for the camera- he was so excited I was there he kept telling his friends that I was his mom- it made me happy:)

I love little kid handwriting! David wanted to make sure all of his friends got a transformer valentines- since it takes him so long to write this is all we got done and the rest got my handwriting:)

Zach thought it was fun to have his valentines too. He was more excited about the suckers that came in the box though:)

I know I am a total lame blogger!! Can I blame it on being pregnant?!!! Isn't that a good excuse for anything:) Well, I thought I would do a quick slideshow of our all our holiday fun that I haven't blogged about. We went to Las Vegas to Rod's mom's house for Thanksgiving- It was a lot of fun. We went IceSkating and the kids loved it. Zach had fractured his arm the day before and had a temporary cast on so I did not want him to iceskate. Well, he knows how to throw a fit and got his way. I let him only if Rod would hold him up and make sure he doesn't fall on it. Rod would try and take breaks and Zach would go crazy and want to go out again. Then when we were leaving he didn't want the iceskates off he wanted to take them home. Lets just say he liked it very much:) Then we went back to Rod's moms and had very yummy thanksgiving dinner. For Christmas, we went to Idaho to the snow- which we got A LOT of snow!! We loved it. We went to the Cabin in Island Park and snow mobiled and hung out. We had a great holiday season and are so blessed to have so many family and friends to share it with. Now, after this week I will be down to 2 months until this baby comes:) It is crazy to think I am going to have three boys!! I mean 4 counting Rod:) I am actually really excited to meet him.

Tyler & Zach- Best buds!

I was struggling to get a good pic of the boys because I didn't try until they were on their way trick or treating and they were so distracted they wouldn't participate- oh well I learned next year to do it well before they go trick or treating!

The Frehner family came and carved pumpkins with us. We Roasted the pumpkin seeds- half the pan we put brown sugar and cinnamon- which I totally recommend!!

Another BOY!!!

So I went to my doc appt. and I am 16 weeks and so this wasn't my official ultrasound but the doc said we could just take a peek and see and sure enough he said, "That's not a girl." My Aunt Sandy is right again!!! The first picture proves it but it is hard to see and didn't scan that well. It was cute because the boys were there and thought it was so neat to listen to the heartbeat and see the baby on the screen. Zach still doesn't quite get it, but David will talk about the baby all the time. Like today, we told him we would go get pumpkins to carve for family night tomorrow and told him we would get one for each person in our family and he said, "And one for the baby!" I am really excited to have another little boy in our family. I just love my boys so much and feel so blessed to be their mom!
